The need

The production
The whole collection is built on old-master lighting: a single warm source, deep shadow around it, skin and fur emerging from the dark. Beneath the Golden Beam and Toward the Light set the register. Eye to Eye and Cheek to Cheek narrow to the meeting itself, while Belly Laugh and The Yarn Conspiracy let humour in without ever tipping into caricature. The restraint is the point: no bright primaries, no props, no whimsy.
The sale
These are the pieces people buy for a birth and keep long after the child has grown, because they are portraits first and nursery art second. The dark grounds hold beautifully under acrylic glass, which lifts the warm light off the surface. They belong in a bedroom, on a landing, along a family corridor — anywhere the light is low and warm in the evening.
