Art Deco is the only modern style that never apologised for wanting to look expensive. Between the wars it gilded everything it touched — lifts, liners, cinemas, cigarette cases — and a century later it remains the fastest route to glamour in a room.
The need
Dining rooms, bars, entrance halls and dressing rooms benefit from a style that reads instantly as luxury without needing explanation. Deco does that better than anything since: symmetry, gold, and hard geometry.
The production
The collection runs the full register of the period. Golden Metropolis at Night and Golden Cityscape at Dusk take the skyline — Deco’s own favourite subject. The Glamorous Ballroom and The Golden Jazz Club handle interiors and music; Deco Nightlife – The Roaring Twenties and Gatsby’s Garden Party the social theatre. Deco Femme Fatale and Art Deco Travel Poster close the set with the two figures the style invented: the modern woman and the modern journey.
The sale
Gold is the hardest colour to reproduce and the most rewarding under acrylic glass — the mount gives metallic tones the reflectivity that flat printing loses entirely. These are evening pieces: show them under warm, directional light. They pair naturally with dark wood, brass and deep green or oxblood walls.
