Behind the Art — the thinking of our decorator, art director and gallerist behind a single collection.
Distorted Fame is a fevered procession of digital idols, their faces splintered by filters and applause until beauty and emptiness become the same image. Eight archetypes — The Filtered Idol, Hashtag Saint, The Sponsored Face, King of Clickbait — none of them a real person, all of them instantly recognisable.
The need
Our interior decorator is clear: this is not wallpaper. Distorted Fame is for the space that wants a point of view — a loft, a creative studio, a bold entrance, a gallery wall. It gives a room edge and intelligence, and it starts conversations.
The production
The art director works in a Neo-Expressionist register: raw, urgent brushwork, acid colour, faces fracturing under their own image. Selfie Apocalypse and The Viral Mask push the distortion furthest; Plastic Aura and Eternal Stream hold an eerie glamour. The series is a critique, but it never lectures — the seduction is part of the argument.
The sale
Our gallerist sees the staying power here: art that names something true about the era it was made in tends to age well. On acrylic glass the acid colour and impasto texture gain real physical presence — these read as paintings, not prints.
